- Practice changing your thinking. Yes, there are things in life that we just get frustrated and want to vent! Understand that ultimately, the longer these stressful emotions linger the more damage it is doing to you. So, pay attention to your emotions and what you are saying to yourself, if it is not generating positive results for you, change it.
I give myself 1 to 3 minutes (okay, sometimes a bit longer) to vent and then actively breathe in and out on five counts and ask “What would not have happened that is positive if X event has not happened?” and look for learning and insights.
Practice really makes it perfect and before long you will start noticing very obvious changes and shifts in you.
